Can I manage my weight with Allara if I’m postpartum or breastfeeding?

Yes, though your care plan will look a little different. Many medications - including GLP-1s - aren't recommended while breastfeeding, but our providers can guide you toward safe alternatives such as nutrition-first or oral medication strategies if appropriate. Your Registered Dietitian will also design a plan that supports recovery, energy, and your specific postpartum needs.

Will weight loss affect my cycle or hormones?

Weight changes can impact your cycle and hormones, sometimes positively. For example, weight management may improve irregular cycles linked to PCOS or insulin resistance. Our women's health specialists monitor your hormones and menstrual health closely, ensuring your care plan supports balance rather than disruption.

How does Allara support women in perimenopause or menopause?

Hormonal shifts in midlife can make weight loss more challenging. At Allara, we recognize that metabolism, muscle mass, and energy needs change during this stage. Your care team, including providers and dietitians trained in women's health, will help you find the right combination of medical treatment, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments to manage symptoms and support sustainable weight goals.
